January 2026 - The Face on the Sidewalk

This is another of my favorite images from a sidewalk chalk artist day in our town. I like the concentration on the artist's face, and I was able to also capture his art creation with her vivid eyes. I squatted down so I could be almost at eye level with the artist and moved to frame the subject with the least amount of distracting items in the background. .
Nikon D7200, Nikon 18-300 lens @ 38 mm. Exposure 1/200, f/7.1, ISO 200.

Hello Ardeth, I think this is a wonderful image and I can see you have taken the time to consider how to best take this image. The perspective is excellent, with a lovely triangle that moves from the red flower, to the artist to the woman's eyes. I love the simplicity of the colors (red, black and white) which also lessens any distractions. I believe this is an image that should do well in competition.
