May 2026 - Tikuna - Puerto los Lagos

About the Image(s)

This photo was shot back in 2022 during my first trek to the Colombian Amazon region. The photo is not posed, the woman, my guide and friend's mother was working when I shot it behind the house. Tikuna are the largest ethnic group of then Amazon basin on the 3 fronteras, Colombia, Peru and Brasil. The village is only reachable on foot or with a boat during the rain season and is close to the capital of the department Leticia. Fuji GFX100s & GF 20-35, ISO 800, f11; 1/200. I had the wrong lens to shoot this photo, actually as I was taking photos inside the village when I saw her, freezing the moment was my objective.

I take your word that the image was not posed, but it would have been better if the subject was doing something instead of. looking at the camera. the wide-angle lens you used didn't seem to be a problem since everything was close to you. The image itself is well composed, and well exposed.   Posted: 05/16/2026 21:50:45
