About the Image(s)

This photograph was taken in Portugal, where I noticed an elderly woman walking through the interior of a church. Her slow movement and focus created a quiet moment that naturally contrasts with the richly decorated surroundings. I saw it as a brief encounter between a person and a place, where everyday life enters the calm and atmosphere of a sacred space.
The image was taken with a Canon EOS R6 Mark II and an RF 28–70 mm f/2.8 IS STM lens (focal length 70 mm), using ISO 1250, f/5.6, and a shutter speed of 1/50 s.
