This photo was taken in the Kogi settlement of Sarachui, which is a three-hour trek up the mountains from Guatapuri in the Cesar Department, Sierra Nevada, Colombia, last week. I just returned home and this is a first photo edited in Lr. The young boy, aged 15, who has a foot malformation, is truly heartbreaking. We encountered him on our ascent to the settlement and he invited us to his hut. It was a difficult trek up under extreme heat. Fuji GFX100s & GF55; ISO640, f1.7, 1/125 sec.

Excellent human interest image. You captured the story and despondency of the subject with his malformed leg in his natural circumstances. Your choice of settings, blurs the background creating even more focus on the individual who is the center of attention. The image is well- centered and requires no crop adjustment. I can see what you mean when you elect to convert your images to monochrome. This is also an excellent example of street photography, but given the proclivities of the judges, I don't know if this will garner many acceptances, although, IMV it should.
