October 2025 - SHE TOOK MY SEAT
About the Image(s)
Namibia is nicknamed the Skeleton Coast, because its rocky coast combined with vagaries of current and tide, combined to produce disaster for unlucky ships, whose wreckage can be seen along its coast. However, its coast is also home to numerous whale species whose migration patterns take them past the skeleton coast. On a whale watching expedition (where BTW, we saw no whales), this image was created. It seemed each tourist boat had a resident sea lion who had no trepidation about coming on board for a good meal, which it always got. Unfortunately, on the day we went whale watching, one hopped aboard and was annoyed that my wife had taken his/her(?) seat.
