Hi Jason. This is a very atmospheric photo of a lane in London. The B&W fits superbly for this setting, unfortunately the pile of rubbish or whatever does not seem to have any connection with HI unless this is a vagrant sleeping in the lane. I assume this is what the message you are trying to get accross. Perhaps the photo could have included more of the person? A difficult photo to take as this may have been taken without permission. I have seen similar and the photographer said he was able to get in close as he paid for the
participants cooperation, $20.   Posted: 01/11/2025 03:16:41

I like it the way it is. Don't think getting closer and focusing in on the sleeper would improve the photo. Maybe crop just a bit off the bottom to get rid of the bright spot. It detracts. B&W is your best choice. Adds grit and emotion to the problem of homelessness. Well done.   Posted: 01/12/2025 17:58:09

Hi Jason, I think this is a very powerful image, that tells a strong story about homelessness and sleeping rough. Monochrome is an excellent choice as it adds to the bleakness of the image. Even the signage on the walls adds to your story. There isn't much that i would do to the image, perhaps a crop at the bottom and the right to make the subject slightly bigger in the frame as there is plenty of space in the distance to suggest the emptiness of the location. the leading line also works well as the viewers eye moves over the subject into the distance that might emphasise the invisiblity of subjects like this.   Posted: 01/12/2025 18:29:34

It's a striking image and the BnW helps me feel illustrate the cold. Sleeping in the cold under a bright light, so many reasons why this is so tough for the person in this shot.   Posted: 01/13/2025 00:27:22
