Welcome to our group, Christine, and I can see you have worked your way around the site. I look forward to seeing more of your work over the months.
You have presented us with an interesting image, that I've spent a little time pondering over. My first question is always - 'what is the story?', and because I have no idea what the two people on the right are doing, and also because the spectators are sharper, then my decision is that the story is about the spectators and their reaction to what's happening up front.
This is a little bit of a problem for me, since the blurred figures are closer, more colorful, are facing the camera and they take a lot of space within the frame. I want to know what they are doing.
My second question is then 'How well have you told the story?", and this is where I would suggest you include more of the spectators - perhaps step to the left and reduce the volume taken up by the man in black, or instead zoom out and include more of what's happening. This would mean that we are clearer about your intent - to focus on the watchers and their wonderful expressions.
Your settings look good, your sharpness is where you intended it to be.
One final note, this group is about Human Interest, and I can see this image fits the theme well.

The expressions of the observers are great. BUT having so much of the photo a blur of people we can't see or know what they are doing is a problem for me. I wish either all were in focus or cut out most of the blurred people and add more audience.
I hope I'm not being too discouraging for your first entry. Welcome.   Posted: 05/06/2025 17:26:31
