November 2025 - Road train rollover
About the Image(s)
On our way home from Broome we came across this road train roll-over, the rescue worker balanced precariously (and probably dangerously) on the truck rubble. The camera settings are poor, as we stopped, grabbed cameras and captured a few shots before heading off so we weren’t in the way. Unfortunately my camera was set on ‘bird shots’!
Taken on Olympus EM1 mk2, 100-400mm lens at 227mm
F7.1, SS1/3200, ISO 2000
Minimal processing – cropping, correction for exposure, contrast added, image through Topaz denoise.

BIG OOPS! Those road trains are enormous. To roll one over probably isn't that hard if some of the innumerable wheels drop off the edge of the highway. Your settings don't look that bad. The fellow on top looks like he has a big job ahead of him. What to do with a rig that big? Lucky you were able to get around the mess.   Posted: 11/04/2025 11:16:19
Hi Jen - I love the instinct of grabbing the camera and a few photos when you see something interesting. This is a nice capture of a moment not easily documented.   Posted: 11/04/2025 15:22:17
